Before May began, I purchased my first camera. I was immediately hooked on bird-watching, and May in Maine is a great month to do that. May is the perfect month to get addicted to bird watching because it is Migratory Bird Month. Many species make their journey north from their wintering area to their breeding grounds.
How does this tie into the theme of "Community Conservation?" I'm glad you ask! Birding festivals typically occur all over the state of Maine in May. Most were canceled this year due to COVID-19, but even though the celebrations didn't happen, birding is one of those things you can do on your own and share with your community later!
Enjoy this collection of my favorite bird photos from this May.
